This journey begins by picking you up from your hotel around 08:30 am. Then we will go by bus to the south of Cusco, during this journey we will be able to observe the beautiful landscapes of the Andean Mountains. The first stop will be the archaeological site of Tipón, an Inka ceremonial center where the flow of water from the high peaks of Cerro Pachatusan to the lowlands of the valley was controlled through a stone channel. Later we will visit the Archaeological Complex of Pikillaqta which literally means «city of fleas». It is an old walled citadel of the Wari Empire, which was one of the most important regional centers of the Wari Culture in its expansion towards the city of Cusco. Finally we will conclude the journey visiting the beautiful Church of Andahuaylillas, a small jewel of the Colonial period, also known as ‘The Sistine of America’, inside which is an impressive collection of canvases with frames bathed in gold leaf and mural paintings, baroque altarpieces, and more. We can also appreciate the famous pentalingual door. On the way back to Cusco we will have an optional stop in the town of Oropesa (the land of bread) to try and buy traditional chuta bread. We can also taste the food in the town of Saylla (land of the pork rinds), this town is known for the famous pork rinds. We will be back in the city of Cusco at approximately 1:00 or 2:00 p.m.
